Nick Logan graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2003, with a sell-out degree show. He paints in oils, draws in sanguine and etches/drypoint prints. He teaches from his home studio; life and portrait drawing and painting, for individuals and groups; recently at the Broadway Arts Festival.
Combing my love of travel with adventure, I'm captivated by wide open spaces, dramatic coastlines and everchanging skies. My paintings are composed from a photographic library, a fusion of elements translated onto canvas, creating atmosphere and drama.
Having a free and fluid mindset is as integral to my creative process as the act of making itself. I use audio and fragrance-based rituals as small cognitive cues to help me achieve a state of 'flow'. This helps me to work intuitively and intentionally on aconsistent basis.
Inspired by a love of nature, my aim as an artist is to draw viewers into my work. Colour and light are central to my paintings. The seasons, water and changing light all provide rich influences.
